The Sanctiform is a compilation of the histories of Orthtir that, in this edition, spans from the Creation of Orthtir to the end of the Tremor War in 969 GE. Other editions of the Sanctiform include further histories that cover the Second Period of Continental Wars up until the end of the Unitary Revolution; however, these editions diverge from the original intent of the Sanctiform, and compile histories other than those just of Orthtir. And while those editions are certainly still a valuable collection of histories, they are not truly Sanctiform. 

In 353 PGE the Gold Curators were founded for the sole purpose of compiling the histories of Ishfadel. Under the tyrannical rule of the Emperor of Stone, many of the histories of Ishfadel had been lost, and it was the goal of the Curators to collect them. The first Sanctiform was finished around 280 PGE and included just the creation of Orthtir, a brief mention of the Ila and their history, the histories of the Ugolan, and the histories of the Ishfadelians. This edition is considered to be poorly translated—with much of the Proto-Ugolic being misinterpreted as Early Ugolic—and largely a work of fiction, as the compilers took liberties with missing portions or conversations. Despite its failings, the first edition provided an invaluable wealth of information regarding Ishfadel under the rule of the Emperor of Stone as well as the subsequent rebellion and collapse. Without this first Sanctiform, many names would have been lost to history and events would go unremembered. 

This edition, first published in 1020 GE, was the first that compiled sets from the entirety of Orthtir, rather than previous editions for each continent. This edition also provided more background concerning the proto-civilizations of Orthtir and swathes of significantly more correctly translated primary texts. 

What I have done, as opposed to my predecessors, is retranslated and edited many of the original texts, as well as added clarity to various conflicting accounts of events. The hope is that through my research and meticulous translations, I have added a good bit more to previous translations.
