A poem that recounts the creation of Aeon. This text was found among ancient ruins in the northern coast of Zalshar.
Upon plains of the seed land Selousel,
Two beings greater than all that walk and breathe,
Met in wonderous song, both chanting to
The other, embracing in harmony,
A song from past the binds of time, beyond
That which mortal ears can behold.
Of high
blooded, the Father god, Selousel king.
Without god blood, the Mother, now queen, once
Of Tarrephus, a villein of her lord.
How great was the Father god and Mother,
Lovers singing as Mothers age passes.
In age, health falls short. Father god always
Watching the Mother, soon abandoning
Selousel which once he had vowed to rule.
Now, plague found the kingdom with no steward.
It sought those without high blood, entering
Palace of the Father god.
With no guard,
The plague found the ageing queen, the Mother.
Soon songs grew dull, Mother among the ill.
Mother succumbed quick to death, weak from age.
Father god, still having youth, carried the
Body to the high cliffs of Tarrephus.
With calloused hands, he dug the rocky grave.
Watering the laboured soil with his tears,
He buried his lost love.
Along the coast,
The Sea of Tarrephus, spit wrathful waves,
Spewing forth water, hiding Father’s grief.
The body, deep in earth, but filled with life.
Children growing within decaying womb,
Yet high blood of the father still remains.
From the body, children of dead Mother
Burst forth, four beings powerful in their own.
Birthed from Mother’s spine, core of body,
Artreae, of Form and Rot, sculpting us
Of wax, heat, and bronze, within Flesh Foundry.
Birthed from Mother’s heart, core of the blood,
Thoyros, of Life and Death, giving us blood
That spews forth red from the Fountain of Life.
Birthed from Mother’s mind, core of reason,
Khebos, of Reason and Chaos, gives mind
Within mazes of the Crystal Forest.
Birthed from Mother’s stomach, core of soul,
Seila, of Soul and Emptiness watching
wandering souls in the Endless Maelstrom.
Mother’s body now Aeon, the greater
Universe, birthing those which create us.
